Over the years, NFlight has grown and evolved, but our goal remains the same: to provide fellow pilots with the tools to capture the thrill of their flying adventures and share them with the world.

Patrick Carter, founder of NFlight, has held a variety of roles in the aviation field, from flying aerobatic shows to working as a Cessna test pilot to flying corporate jets and airliners to instructing student pilots. But his favorite flights involve the bush planes he flies around his home state of Alaska. From landing DeHavilland Otters and Beavers on skis in snowy Denali National Park to guiding brown bear photography tours on floats in Katmai National Park to simply exploring untouched wilderness in a Super Cub on bushwheels, Alaska provides Patrick with endless opportunities for his aviation-based adventures. The kind of adventures you want to film and share with others...

Today’s action cameras and smartphones provide the average consumer with the ability to record extremely high-quality video footage, but aviation presents some problems for this method of video capture. NFlightCam was founded to solve these problems. With a background in engineering and physics and certification as an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic with an Inspection Authorization, Patrick has designed and manufactured various solutions to the three main issues plaguing pilots trying to film their flights.

First, how do you securely mount a camera inside or outside your aircraft? With multiple options from interior cockpit mounts to strut clamps to ball-head mounts that can attach to various points on your plane’s exterior, NFlightCam has you covered. Want to film from the wingtip or tail or belly of your plane with the assurance that your camera will remain securely attached? No problem!

Next is the issue of propeller distortion. When filming with the propeller in the shot, a strange phenomenon occurs that creates odd black lines streaking vertically across the frame. A neutral density filter is the solution, so we’ve paired this filter with various adapters we designed for a variety of cameras and smartphones. No more black streaks ruining your video!

Finally, your flight story is not complete without sound. But the loud ambient noise in the cockpit is not what you want on your video. Our cables allow you to plug your camera or smartphone into your plane or helicopter to record aircraft audio instead of useless noise. Now you can capture conversations between pilots, passengers, and even Air Traffic Control!

Nothing makes us happier than being able to help pilots capture the thrill of their flights and share them with others. So get out there. It’s a great big, beautiful world.

Fly it. Shoot it. Share it.
